When does opinion become judgement?

The beauty of freedom of speech is in having an opinion. Everyone has one right? You might choose to keep your opinion(s) to yourself or you may elect to shout your feelings to the masses. Their are pros and cons to both: If you keep your opinions) to yourself, no one will ever hear what you have to say and you will just carry it around with you like an old purse. If you decide to let your voice be heard, you open yourself up to the world and all of its perceptions of what you perceive. The question is again, when do these opinions become judgement calls? You may have come to the conclusion that there is a very fine line between these two vessels of oral expression; a line that is almost invisible. You may have a simple opinion when asked what you think of someone’s hairstyle. You express whether or not you think it’s becoming to the person. You are quickly labeled judgmental when your opinion is less than favorable. Now this hardly seems fair, especially when you didn’t volunteer your thoughts on the subject. You were simply giving an honest answer to a question that was posed to you. Understandably, you could conclude that an opinion and a judgement are one and the same, or aren’t they?
